| I am a
simple man; with forefathers as simple as I. My core informs me, of lives lived in the past; many lessons learnt. The illusion of “now” and all its complexity, fills the vision of my eye. I am a simple man; love is all I have ever yearned. When I wakeup, I expect the sun as light above my head. I leave the night behind, to share its romances and tranquility no more. I am thankful for my food and good health; trust I’ll sleep again, in my bed. As I move through the day, I share my love with all; validation to the core. I am a simple man; evolved from apes, they say. Part of some big bang and created from dust by a God called “I am.” I have a sinful nature, yet share good intent with all mankind; my mind, now stray. I am a simple man; so many stories to confuse me, I choose to believe in The Lamb. I have been called crazy and my belief questioned in detail; my choice is simple. Yet, I listen to theories of my friends; understand they are permitted a viewpoint. Perspective depends on the standpoint you view it from, so complexity I handle. Some find solace in solitude, meditation; while others enjoy a smoking a joint. I am a simple man; I ponder on the purpose of my existence, I remain a modern man. So many cavil; they are forceful in their quest to be right, in intricacies they dabble. I consider only that to which I might have to answer; should Judgment Day face man. I am a simple man; with simple solutions, praising the God of the humble. Then, when I die; I have lived a life I am proud of, a life based on love. Irrespective of my viewpoint, I’ll face what ever I come to meet there. I have made my choices and remained open for correction; trust flows still, above. This is the firm stand point of a simple man, who knows better than to veer. I am a simple man; so I realize that you are permitted a standpoint of your own. I am a simple man; pillared in a belief of my choosing, please don’t talk that down. |
