When I was
younger; I did not reflect on life as much as I do
today. There was a sense of “everything will work itself out” one or other way. There was no concrete goal for my life; that I was aware of in anyway. Life was a loose, easy-going or “what’s up next” philosophy, if it is a philosophy at all. Yes; I recall meeting others without caring for them at all! As a youngster; what knowledge did I have about the need to have good friends? A friend was someone that could get me to the next “jol”; someone that passed along. Unlike then; today I have selection criteria for those I choose to befriend. Fact is; I’ve grown up, left the childish things behind. I have found value in true friendship, without discarding the value of knowing someone’s name. I have learned that we all have inter-responsibility for each other, but also for ourselves. Life is not “loose”, “easy-going” or solely about the next “kick”. We should control the things we can; in such a way that the honest will win. We should identify the things we can not control; acknowledge gravity won’t go. As beings we are somewhat encaged, by the confinements of this physical age. Concern yourself with that of you that do not have mass; unrestricted by time. Watch the ripples on the pond, when you cast your stone. Be accountable for all you have caused; do not take fame for the good while you justify the bad away. Have the philosophy that you will reap what you have sown; and then do things responsibly. My best advice is to be kind to all; let the tough beings sort out the ill intentioned ones. Increase your abilities all the time, so you may grow tough too; helping others to protect themselves. Assist the weak, without losing your momentum in life. Sometimes destruction is justified; when you are going to create something better in its place. If something is going wrong… FIX IT! I know this sounds so cliché; but love and care for each other. When you care about someone, your decisions will be made in such a way as not to harm them. Live your life in such a way, that you may look back at it one day; and find that it was good. I will be looking back at mine and see you somewhere under the label; FRIEND. |
