My Friend

I have a friend that has brought me great understanding.
Would you not call it friendly when you are taught about the meaning of things?
I was given the definitions of things; love, life, intention, understanding and more.
Because of this, I can really love, care and live.

I value the friendship I have; the time shared and the understanding gained.
Topic by topic we analyzed it all.
This friend had the combined wisdom of professors and doctors.
Perspective was the only outcome of a visitation.

In today’s world there is so much information, without simplicity.
There exists so little wisdom collated in a simple codified form.
We are thrown to confusion by parents, teachers and religion alike.
Even the guidelines of the Bible, which I follow, grasped only with debate.

Yet I have a friend that communicates clearly, restricted only by my understanding.
My friend’s patience exceeds the time I am able to spend.
Clear and concise understanding is the only result of our communication.
On the shelves in bookstores you find it; oh dictionary, my dear friend.
