My Appeal

Peaceful, but not content, am I; in a time foreign to who I am.
I venture out into the open to search for my kind.
I reveal too dangerously my thoughts and my characteristics.
My appearance is comparable to others; yet my inner core significantly different.

I enjoy watching people; observing the way in which they interact.
I study the limitations they place on themselves and impose on me.
That; I don’t like, because I do not agree.
I am a follower of true freedom; of choice, speech and orientation.

Daily, I see how people are encaged and yet expect me to reside with them there.
I can not ignore the translucent bars of our prison cell; like others seam to do.
How can I be expected to be in awe of our jailers for their “kindness?”
It is all illusions; there is no freedom here, not true and just.

I say freedom is about allowing diverse societies within society.
It’s wrong to judge me on a foreign belief system; however, please judge me on mine.
Don’t allow laws to discriminate against that which I find okay or right.
Most belief systems condemn evil; like murder, theft and adultery.

It is preposterous to be controlled by laws founded on misunderstood principles.
I don’t have to like everybody’s behaviour; but can’t force them to see it like me.
These days it has become acceptable to love the same gender; yet, I disagree.
There is no law left against it; yet, my country men can not have a second wife.

Who decides what we may and may not do; and how practical is that?
Traditions and religions are retarded by man made laws without consideration.
No law should prevent someone from exercising practices of his faith.
That is just wrong and nothing can justify it to a point of being right.

I too, would have wanted the world to function on my viewpoint.
But; that would be unfair towards others, just as it is now.
I am outspoken about my protest against gay and satanic practices.
Be fair; freedom is about having laws that protect all of mankind, not just some.
