Daffodil Night

Red is the colour of my heart, as it reaches across waters old.
Many memories I recall, as an age old story begins to unfold.
How precious are the memories of my soul; you and me in a better time?
Is it possible; can the soul carry love across the threshold of father-time?

Now red is the colour of my heart; moonlit steps between white and yellow daffodils.
The age old tale told again, with the passion of our love and daffodils.
Lowly mind, seek the recordings of another time; call into my heart those feelings.
Savour a time of silver spoons, gentlemen and honest beings.

Do you recall Sunday walks in the English countryside; hedges standing in line?
Your foreign beauty was the envy of every lord, yet; so securely, your hand in mine.
Lovely lady, you’re the treasure of my heart; your affection my delight.
O Lady in Red, do you remember, embracing love at candle light?

Visions of red fill my mind again; and of daffodils by a moonlit path.
That night; our eternal endearment, swore to in a bath.
The mind forgot, but the soul reaches out; across memories hidden in the sea?
Visions of red and daffodils in my mind; once again our love can’t be.

Now I stand outside, stare upon the star we named; in memory of our love.
I recall vividly; drinking the memory, the peace of our bodies in the buff.
Lady Fate is fulfilling her promise; mocking with a distance to great to bridge.
But; at night I shall set my spirit free; dwelling in your nearness, in love, we are rich.

Now Lady Red, do not be despaired; our love has stood the test of time and life.
One or other time, Lady Fate will focus on another; until then we’ll lead a life in strife.
As I stretch out to grab your hand, I am thankful; for the allowance to converse, at least.
At night I will journey to the dream; while my heart rushes in anticipation of our feast.

Anchor your love my dear; keep it as steadfast as it has ever been.
Happy times will come past again, much like those we have previously seen.
And for this life time, we’ll carry our love across the boundaries of the sea.
I will knock on Lady Fate’s door time and time again; our love to share, my plea.
