| Gray is my
colour of peace; a reminder that, “love” can be
unconditional. Dwelling through earlier times, when gray was black; still I am peaceful. How would I have learnt about fairness; about fearing God, without Black? Gray and Black is where my values come from; that and compassion. Today I am fortunate, because morphing from Black to Gray brought softness. I have your shades of Gray as company and hope that I grow gray like you. The love you have for others have taught me that loving them is pleasing to God. Nobody has ever valued my existence as much as you. Life is real and these physical bodies will need to lie down sometime. I can only pray that God’s grace will protect you from the painfulness of reality. I pray; that you will lie down before me; my siblings and children. I will weep at your grave; remember times of Black and Gray, but you’ll be okay. Let’s not get too far ahead of ourselves; for now you are with me. I will listen to your Gray words; continue the life formed by Black. I will reform Black by the wisdom of Gray; why? You are my mother and your presence; love and grace from God that makes me smile. |
